My Friends,

My name is Clint Grantham and I am running for Coffee County Commissioner District 1.
Like most of you, I was born and raised here in The Wiregrass. And like you, I never considered running for public office. Most of my life I viewed politics as something that happened far away by an elected class of people, and not something I needed to be concerned about. The political historian Alexis de Tocqueville wrote about Americans' love of being left alone. I expected if I ignored government then government would kindly ignore me. The last several years proved I couldn't have been more wrong. As President Reagan once said, "[freedom] is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation." You and I can no longer afford to leave our governance to chance, somehow expecting our liberties, values, and morals to be safeguarded for our children and grandchildren. In the past twenty years we have all seen the damage done when we ignore our civic responsibility. This must stop. It is a duty of every red-blooded American to take an active role in preserving and protecting what so many of our forefathers died to give us. We can no longer afford to be absent in our government. We must be the living champions of the conservative Christian values our parents and grandparents taught us here in the Wiregrass.

Among the values you and I share are:
 • Parents and not government know what's best for our children
 • Medical Freedom is not subject to whimsical government declared emergencies
 • Election Integrity is the sacred generational trust that holds our Republic together
 • 2nd Amendment rights shall not be infringed
 • A baby in the womb is a gift from God and has a right to life the same as you and I
 • Schools should stick to reading, writing, and arithmetic and not social engineering and indoctrination
 • Ever increasing levels of public spending is the surest way to financial ruin
 • A government is beholding to its citizens and not illegal aliens
 • Laws are not laws if they are not enforced
 • America does not have an aristocrat class, politicians should be term limited

Observing the changes of the past several years I have come to recognize that political solutions are local. That means both you and I have the power to impact what matters most in the Wiregrass. For too long, Alabama, rather than taking the lead, follows on the most important issues we face; such as, parental rights, school choice, medical freedom, Chinese Confucian centers in our colleges, Chinese ownership of Alabama land, and the necessity of paper ballots. We must all take a more active role in our community, as though the outcome of the entire enterprise relies on us alone. This civic responsibility is the only weapon we have as citizens to ensure our government truly represents the community that elects them. This is why I am running for office and humbly ask for your vote.
